Assisted Living Caregiver

Job Summary

As an Assisted Living Caregiver, you’ll provide attentive, respectful support that helps residents maintain comfort, dignity, and independence. You’ll assist with daily routines, communicate with residents and colleagues, and help create a safe, welcoming living environment. Your impact: Consistent personal care and clear communication help residents feel supported and enable families to stay informed.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, dressing, mobility, and meal preparation.
• Support medication administration and monitor vital signs as assigned and within applicable requirements.
• Use safe patient lifting and manual handling practices; follow first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures when needed.
• Provide compassionate senior, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and memory care, including behavior management and respect for residents’ rights.
• Help with cleaning, direct support, and daily activities; operate a standard passenger car when transportation is part of the role.

Experience

• Assisted living, residential care home, personal care home, retirement home, nursing home, group home, or other long-term care experience is valuable.
• Home care and home and community care experience are also relevant.
• Experience in caregiving, geriatrics, or working with individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, or cognitive disabilities is helpful.
• Familiarity with ADLs, medication administration, vital signs, first aid and CPR, heavy lifting, and safe patient lifting practices is preferred.
• Clear client communication, meal preparation, cleaning, and behavior management skills support success in this role.
