Caregiver/CNA– Private Duty Home Care

We are looking for compassionate, reliable and experienced caregivers to provide in-home, non-medical care. Our services include personal care and support with activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, eating, ambulation, transfers & toileting), companionship and supervision.

Schedule / Staffing Needs

Immediate need

Weekend coverage, Friday 11 AM through Monday 11 AM (72 hours weekly).

Preferred shifts

• Friday: 11 AM–11 PM
• Friday overnight: 11 PM–11 AM
• Saturday: 11 AM–11 PM
• Saturday overnight: 11 PM–11 AM
• Sunday: 11 AM–11 PM
• Sunday overnight: 11 PM–11 AM

Caregiver Requirements - Very Important

Patience and communication

• Must be patient and willing to learn client's speech patterns and verbal cues.
• Should never rush him or interrupt when he is trying to communicate.
• Must take time to ensure they understand what he wants before proceeding.

Gentle, respectful care

• Must perform feeding, transfers, and personal care at client's pace.
• Avoid rushed, rough, or aggressive movements.
• Explain what they are doing and obtain consent before touching him, particularly during intimate personal care.
• Respect his autonomy, dignity, and preferences at all times.

Relevant experience

• Prefer caregivers experienced with wheelchair users, assisted transfers, and clients with significant physical limitations.
• Must be physically capable of assisting with transfers safely, using the techniques and equipment established by the DON.
• Should be comfortable learning the client's individualized routines from regular caregivers.

Compensation: $21/hr

Responsibilities

• Provide client care as directed by the Director of Nursing or registered nurse supervisor
• Assist client in active and passive range of motion defined by the plan of care, document observed changes, report any changes to the nursing supervisor
• Follow principles of infection control and Universal Precaution
• Comply with all documentation and recordkeeping requirements
• Develop and promote a safe environment for quality client care through adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards
• Respond rapidly and appropriately in an emergency situation

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year PAID in-home experience (personal hygiene and transfer skills)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screen
• Ability to pass a DOJ/FBI background clearance
• Current TB test, CPR Certification
• Means of own reliable transportation
• Clean DMV driving record
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
• Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality
• Proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States and the ability to speak, read and write fluent English
