Personal Care Technician (Float)

Summary/Objective

Personal Care Technician (Float) help residents who have medical or behavioral health needs maintain a high quality of life. This position requires committed, and compassionate individuals with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.

Personal Care Technician (Float) perform a variety of tasks in the home to help their Resident with daily activities such as light housework, bathing, and bathroom functions, feeding, grooming, and taking medications. The specific duties for Personal Care Technician (Float) are designed around the needs of each individual Resident and may be modified as the needs of the resident’s change.

This is often a demanding role requiring the ability to remain calm under pressure, however, supporting individuals with medical or behavioral health needs can also be very rewarding by promoting Resident choice, personal growth, and independence in their homes and community.

This position also requires strong flexibility. Scheduling will be determined on a week-by-week basis.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain a safe residential environment at all times 2. Thoroughly review and understand resident binders, protocols, and face sheets 3. Follow Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and/or Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs) as directed 4. Use proper techniques in performing direct care in accordance with company policy and procedures, accepted standards of care, and applicable regulations and requirements 5. Provide instruction and assistance in daily living activities, including:

• Planning and preparing meals in accordance with any dietary requirements
• Maintaining a clean, orderly home environment (laundry, household cleaning, etc.)
• Assisting with personal care (bathing, toileting, transferring, dressing, exercising, etc.)
