Position Overview

GentleHands Home Care is seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated On Call Caregivers to provide quality in home care to clients throughout Vacaville, California.

This flexible position is ideal for caregivers who can respond to scheduling needs and accept shifts based on client availability and care requirements. Our caregivers play an important role in helping clients maintain their independence, dignity, comfort, and safety in the place they call home.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements

• Active Home Care Aide (HCA) ID or PER ID listed on the California Home Care Aide Registry
• Valid California Driver’s License
• Reliable personal vehicle with current auto insurance
• Negative TB test completed within the last 90 days
• Ability to safely lift, transfer, and assist clients weighing up to 50 pounds
• Willingness and ability to travel to client homes throughout Vacaville, CA
• Spanish speaking skills preferred

Key Responsibilities

As an On Call Caregiver, you will provide personalized assistance and compassionate support to help clients live safely and comfortably at home.

Responsibilities include

• Assisting with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Supporting client mobility, transfers, and safe movement
• Encouraging independence while respecting each client’s dignity and preferences
• Preparing meals and assisting with nutrition and hydration
• Providing companionship and meaningful social interaction
• Performing light housekeeping and laundry
• Providing medication reminders according to agency policies and the client’s care plan
• Observing and reporting changes in clients’ conditions or care needs
• Maintaining accurate care documentation and service records
• Following agency safety guidelines, infection control practices, and emergency procedures
• Communicating professionally with supervisors, care coordinators, clients, and family members
