Caregiver

Job Overview

Do you have compassion for the elderly? Do you enjoy working in a team atmosphere? We are looking for two caregivers to provide dedicated support and assistance to our seniors over the age of 62. We are a nonprofit assisted living home and we need caregivers who are consistent, have great work ethic, and want to be part of a team. This paid position offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our low-income seniors.

Responsibilities

• Provide attention and care to 15 seniors ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
• Assist with daily routines such as bathing, dressing and medication administration
• Maintain a clean and organized environment that adheres to health and safety standards
• Communicate regularly with staff management re: any changes in resident
• Hiring Evenings, Overnight Positions and some overlapping shifts.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with the elderly in nursing homes or hospital setting preferred
• Certification in first aid, CPR and Medication Technician a plus but not required
• Understanding and patient dealing with dementia residents
• Ability to handle all situations calmly and effectively
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members effectively
• Be a team player and promote a happy workplace
