Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary

As a Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant, you’ll provide respectful, person-centered care that helps clients and residents maintain comfort, dignity, and daily routines. You may work in home care, home and community care, group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings. Your impact: By following care plans and observing changes in well-being, you help clients and residents receive timely, appropriate support.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, mobility, and safe transfers; use a Hoyer lift and manual handling techniques when trained and appropriate.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and provide personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Monitor clients and residents, observe and report changes, take vital signs when required, and document care.
• Support medication administration only as authorized and within applicable training and requirements.
• Provide direct support for older adults and people with autism, developmental, intellectual, neurodevelopmental, or other disabilities; respect resident rights, privacy, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.

Experience

• Caregiving, patient care, patient observation, patient monitoring, client communication, and patient personal care assistance are valuable.
• Experience in senior care, geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, nursing, or home health is helpful.
• Group home, assisted living, nursing home, long-term care, home care, or home and community care experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with care plans, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), vital signs, patient transfer methods, and medication administration is beneficial; follow role-specific authorization and training requirements.
• Ability to perform assigned physical tasks, including heavy lifting when required, safely and in accordance with applicable guidance.

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
