Caregiver – Small 6-Resident Assisted Living Home

Overview

As a Caregiver in a small, six-resident assisted living home, you’ll provide attentive, respectful support that helps residents feel safe, comfortable, and engaged in daily life. You’ll assist with personal care, meals, medication routines, and household tasks while communicating with residents and the care team. Your impact: Consistent, person-centered care supports residents’ dignity and helps them maintain daily routines.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and toileting.
• Support medication administration and monitor vital signs according to care plans and applicable procedures.
• Prepare meals, clean shared spaces, and help maintain a welcoming residential environment.
• Communicate with residents, families, and colleagues; respect residents’ rights and individual preferences.
• Use safe patient lifting and manual handling practices; support behavior management and respond appropriately to changing needs.

Requirements

• Caregiving experience in assisted living, residential care, personal care homes, group homes, nursing homes, retirement homes, long-term care, home care, or home and community care is relevant.
• Experience with senior care, geriatrics, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, dementia care, or individuals with developmental, cognitive, or other disabilities is valued.
• Knowledge of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); experience with client communication, meal preparation, cleaning, and medication administration is helpful.
• Able to follow safe lifting practices and perform required manual handling, including heavy lifting when needed.
• A valid ability to operate a standard passenger car is useful for resident-related transportation.

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
