Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for assisting patients through all phases of the surgical care experience, under the direct supervision of the registered nurse. The CNA performs organizational, administrative, patient care and environmental tasks as needed to facilitate quality patient care and efficient utilization of available resources within the scope of practice. The CNA assists the nursing staff in the daily clinical operations of the surgical environment in accordance with established Federal, State, and accreditation standards and Center policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures an optimal patient experience by adhering to the organization’s policies and procedures, mission, vision and foundations. Treats each patient as their most important priority.
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Assists with rooming patients, patient transfers and discharging patients from the facility.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Assist with medical procedures and treatments as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Assists as needed with walking, transfers, positioning, dressing and toileting needs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Prioritizes job responsibilities to facilitate optimum patient care and utilization of resources.
  • Assists visitors, staff and physicians utilizing good guest relations.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned by management.
