Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Summary

The Special Needs Care Giver plays a crucial role in supporting ONE individual with special needs. He is a *total care 17-year-old male*. We work closely with the client and his parents in the family home. The caregiver will focus on patient observation, provide guidance, changing, feeding, showering, redirection and companionship. The shifts are Monday to Friday 4pm sharp to 8 pm with the option to work on occasional Saturdays if you'd like too.

Duties

• Must be able to *lift and bend to help client shower.*
• Engage with the client and follow the routine set by the family.
• Feed snack and dinner.
• Bathing and dressing for bed.
• Mom will show caregiver how to do all duties.

Requirements

• *Must be available Monday to Friday from 4pm to 8pm and on time!*
• *Possible shifts on Saturdays for extra hours as well. Times vary.*
• *Prefer someone who lives close to client.*
• Experience in special needs care including Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.
• Knowledge of care plans and patient observation techniques is essential.
• Previous experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
• Strong communication skills.
• Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
