Certified Nursing Assistant/Caregiver

POSITION SUMMARY

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, hands-on personal care and support to clients in their homes, working under the direction and supervision of the Administrator and/or a Registered Nurse. The CNA plays a vital role in helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and dignified at home — assisting with daily activities, monitoring wellbeing, and building genuine, trusting relationships with the clients and families we serve.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, and toileting
• Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and range-of-motion exercises as directed
• Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) as assigned
• Assist with feeding and monitor nutritional and fluid intake
• Observe and report changes in the client’s physical or emotional condition to the supervising nurse or Administrator promptly
• Perform light housekeeping directly related to the client’s care (tidying living areas, changing linens, laundry)
• Provide companionship and meaningful engagement with clients
• Follow each client’s individualized care plan and Agency policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care provided
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow Agency emergency procedures
• Maintain client confidentiality and follow HIPAA and Agency privacy standards
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, families, and the care team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Current, active certification on the Georgia Certified Nurse Aide Registry, in good standing
• Satisfactory criminal background check through the Georgia Criminal Background Check System (GCHEXS)
• Current TB screening (TB skin test or chest X-ray) on file
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
