Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and well-being
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, ensuring safety and comfort through tailored memory care techniques
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other manual handling tools to safely transfer patients while adhering to safe lifting practices
• Observe and report changes in patient conditions promptly to nursing staff
• Maintain infection control protocols using aseptic techniques

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program with current Kansas licensure
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks/Cerner) systems for accurate medical documentation and patient service records
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks involving physical strength while maintaining patient safety standards
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and provide compassionate patient service
