The Recreation Support Aide plays a vital role in enhancing residents¿ quality of life by facilitating engagement, supporting independence, and assisting with daily living activities and transportation needs. This role helps foster a positive, inclusive environment that respects residents¿ individual preferences, cultural backgrounds, and special needs, ultimately contributing to a holistic approach to resident care and well-being.

How does it get done?

Assisting in planning and delivering therapeutic recreation activities such as arts and crafts, music, games, gardening, and cultural events. Escorting and transporting residents to activities on-site, within the grounds, or in the community, ensuring safe and comfortable transit. Helping load and unload residents onto buses, wheelchairs, or mobility aids for outings or activities. Preparing, sanitizing, and organizing supplies, materials, and adaptive equipment used during recreational programs. Supporting residents during activities by providing assistance with feeding, grooming, and mobility as needed.
