About the Position

TOP Home Care Solutions is seeking a caring, patient, dependable, and experienced Personal Care Aide (PCA) to provide individualized care and support to a 9-year-old child client. The ideal candidate must genuinely enjoy working with children and have experience supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, attentive, and committed to creating a safe, supportive, and positive environment that promotes the child's comfort, dignity, independence, and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, compassionate, age-appropriate personal care and assistance.
• Assist with toileting, bathroom routines, hygiene, and personal cleanliness.
• Support the child's daily routines and personal care needs with patience and understanding.
• Provide appropriate supervision to help maintain a safe environment.
• Use a calm, patient, and supportive approach when working with behaviors or challenges associated with autism and ADHD.
• Encourage positive behavior, independence, communication, and participation in daily activities.
• Assist with activities of daily living as directed by the child's care plan.
• Follow the established care plan and instructions provided by the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional.
• Communicate professionally with the family and care team regarding the child's needs and any concerns.
• Maintain the child's privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a caregiving, personal care, childcare, or healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated experience caring for or supporting children with autism and ADHD.
• Hands-on experience providing toileting assistance and personal hygiene care.
• Patience, compassion, dependability, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow care instructions and maintain professional boundaries.
• Ability to provide attentive supervision and respond appropriately to the child's individual needs.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality.
• Ability to meet applicable background check and employment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous pediatric PCA, direct support, special needs caregiving, or similar experience.
• Knowledge of strategies that support children with autism and ADHD.
• CPR/First Aid certification, if applicable to the position.
