CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant

Nursing assistant is responsible for observing patients and reporting/documenting these observations and the services provided. Nursing Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Provident personal care that includes: A. Bathrooms B. Back massages C. Oral hygiene D. Shampoos E. Change of bed linen F. Help the patient dress and undress G. Skin care to prevent breakage H. Assist the patient with toileting activities I. Keep the patient's living room clean and tidy 2. Plan and prepare nutritious meals. 3. Assist with feeding the patient, if necessary. 4. Take and record oral, rectal, and axillary temperatures, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate skills completed/demonstrated). 5. Assist with ambulation and exercise according to the care plan. 6. Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate skills competency completed/demonstrated). 7. Help the patient in self-administration of medications. 8. Wash the patient's clothing, as appropriate. 9. Meet patient safety needs and use equipment safely and appropriately (foot benches, side rails, etc.) 10. Report patient status and significant changes to assigned nurse supervisor. 11. Adhere to the documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct of the Organization.
