Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, including those with autism and dementia. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through direct support and care.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
• Provide patient observation to ensure safety and well-being, reporting any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
• Support clients in developing life skills through structured programs and activities.
• Administer CPR and first aid as needed, ensuring a safe environment for all clients.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Experience

• Previous experience in direct support or caregiving roles is preferred.
• Familiarity with dementia care techniques and working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of patient observation practices and medication administration protocols is beneficial.
• Certification in CPR is required; additional training in relevant areas will be provided as needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members are essential for success in this role.
