Companion / Caregiver

Overview

As a Companion / Caregiver, you’ll provide attentive, respectful support that helps clients maintain comfort, safety, and daily routines at home or in a care setting. You’ll communicate with clients and care teams, follow care plans, and protect each person’s privacy and rights. Your impact: Consistent observation and compassionate assistance help clients and families feel informed and supported.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), hair and beard care
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and provide personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Observe and monitor clients, report changes, and support vital-sign checks and medication administration only within your training and authorization.
• Follow care plans, resident rights, privacy practices under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and applicable safety procedures.
• Provide companionship and direct support tailored to each client’s needs.

Requirements

• Patient care, caregiving, client communication, patient observation, and patient monitoring skills.
• First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); first aid and CPR not required yet welcomed
• Experience in home care, home health, home and community care, assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, or long-term care is helpful.
• Experience supporting people with autism, disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is valued.
• Creativity and pleasant demeanor are helpful qualities

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
