Job Responsibilities

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide individualized support to people with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. Your role is to help each individual live as independently and confidently as possible.

Responsibilities include

• Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
• Preparing light meals and snacks
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Assisting with community outings and recreational activities
• Performing light housekeeping related to the individual's care
• Medication reminders or administration (if certified)
• Encouraging independence and teaching daily living skills
• Completing required documentation

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass BCI/FBI background checks
• Compassionate, dependable, and professional
• Experience is preferred but not required—paid training is available for the right candidate
