Home Health Aide

Overview

As a Home Health Aide, you’ll provide attentive, respectful care that helps clients remain safe and comfortable at home and in the community. You’ll support daily routines, observe changes in clients’ well-being, and communicate clearly with clients and care teams. This is a paid position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, bathing, dressing, mobility, and patient transfers; use a Hoyer lift when appropriate and follow safe lifting practices.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and do laundry while supporting clients’ preferences and independence.
• Observe and report changes, take vital signs as assigned, and complete accurate medical documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Follow care instructions for medication administration, catheter care, dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, hospice, and end-of-life support, within your training and applicable regulations.
• Protect confidentiality under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and follow home health care regulations and emergency procedures. Your impact: Consistent, compassionate care helps clients and families feel supported while promoting safety and dignity at home.

Skills

• Patient care, caregiving, client communication, patient observation, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); basic life support (BLS) is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records, and EMR/EHR systems is preferred.
• Relevant experience in home health, home care, home health agencies, home and community care, assisted living, nursing homes, long-term care, live-in care, senior care, geriatrics, or working with geriatric patients is valued.
• Experience with developmental disabilities, disabilities, patient personal care assistance, medication administration, vital signs, patient transfer methods, catheter care, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, or hospice care is an asset.

Pay: $23.25 - $25.00 per hour
