Home Health Aide

Job Overview

As a Home Health Aide, you’ll provide respectful, practical support that helps clients remain safe and comfortable at home. You’ll assist with personal care and daily routines, observe changes in a client’s condition, and communicate clearly with clients and their care team. This role may involve supporting older adults and people with disabilities, including clients receiving memory or hospice care.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, mobility, and personal care.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and handle laundry according to client needs.
• Observe and report changes; measure vital signs and complete medical documentation and records as directed.
• Support safe transfers, including use of a Hoyer lift when trained and appropriate; follow instructions for catheter care and medication assistance.
• Provide companionship and communicate respectfully while following home health care regulations and protecting client confidentiality under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving, home health, home care, home and community care, or a home health agency is valuable. Assisted living, nursing home, long-term care, senior care, geriatric, live-in, and hospice experience are also relevant.
• Patient care experience may include Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory, end-of-life, or developmental disability care.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) systems, medical terminology, and patient observation is helpful.
• Knowledge of first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), basic life support (BLS), medication administration, catheter care, and patient transfer methods is preferred.
• Able to perform required physical tasks, including heavy lifting, and maintain accurate records while safeguarding private information.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
