Home Health Aide

Overview

As a Home Health Aide, you’ll provide respectful, hands-on care that helps clients remain safe and comfortable at home and in the community. You’ll support older adults and individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, or memory-related needs. This is a paid position; specific qualifications and duties may vary by care setting and applicable home healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, transfers, and assistance with bathing
• Support medication administration only as permitted by your role and applicable regulations; provide catheter care only when authorized and trained.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and do laundry while communicating clearly with clients and care teams.

Skills

• Patient care, caregiving, home health care assistance, home care, senior care, and patient personal care assistance.
• Patient observation, client communication, medical documentation, medical records, and basic medical terminology.
• First aid and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation); basic life support (BLS) is helpful. Follow confidentiality and safety practices.
• Experience in home health, home and community care, home health agencies, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care is helpful.
• Experience with geriatric patients, geriatrics, Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory care, hospice or end-of-life care, and individuals with disabilities is valued. Familiarity with heavy lifting and patient transfer methods is useful.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
