Companion care includes light housekeeping, laundry assistance, transportation, medication reminders, meal preparation and participating in activities the client enjoys like puzzles or games. Clients may also need assisted walking, transfers, and exercises. Personal care includes help with bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.

• Competitive Pay- $18-$20/hour depending on the type of client and work setting

Requirements of a Home Health Aide

• Valid Iowa Driver’s License
• Proof of Car Insurance
• Pass Background Check
• Ability to be reliable and dependable
• Desire to care for older adults, keeping them safe and independent in their homes

Responsibilities of a Home Health Aide

• Provide personal cares- showers, dressing, assisted walking, transfers
• Assist with feeding, medication reminders, meal planning
• Follow agency policies, procedures, and protocols
• Provide companionship and engaging activities as appropriate
• Provide transportation as needed
