Schedule

Minimum 20 hours a month guaranteed. Client needs weekday availability during the summer with weekend/evening availability preferred. During the school year weekend and evening availability required. Schedule to be determined by DSP and client. Availability for relief care is preferred.

About the client

9-year-old girl with severe anxiety, ADHD, and complex trauma. She has NDE (neo-natal drug exposure) and is adopted. She is super smart, very outgoing, and very physically active. She generally has a sunny, extroverted, creative disposition and can be quite affectionate, generous and empathetic.

She requires extra observation to ensure she stays safe, especially in the community, such as not running into the street. This is often due to poor impulse control, where there is no delay between what she thinks and what her body does. Communication is hard for her when she's already concentrating on something else. She needs to be gently coached to pause/redirect as opposed to abrupt transitions.

She enjoys playing at the park, going to the rock climbing gym, all kinds of art projects/crafts, card and board games, animals

DSP requirements

DSP needs to have experience working with kids who have major trauma and severe neuro diagnoses.
