In-Home Caregiver / Personal Care Assistant - Entry Level

Job Summary

As an entry-level In-Home Caregiver / Personal Care Assistant, you’ll help clients live with greater comfort, dignity, and independence in their homes and communities. You’ll provide respectful personal care, follow care plans, and communicate changes in a client’s condition. Your impact: Attentive daily support helps clients maintain routines and gives families greater confidence in their care.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and provide personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Support medication administration only as authorized and directed by the care plan.
• Observe and monitor clients, report changes, and follow safe patient transfer and manual handling practices, including use of a Hoyer lift when trained and authorized.
• Provide direct support tailored to individual needs, including senior care, dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, hospice, and support for people with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities, and other disabilities.

Skills

• Essential: Compassionate caregiving, patient care and personal care assistance, clear client communication, reliable observation, and respect for residents’ rights and privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Essential: Ability to follow care plans and safety procedures; first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) knowledge or certification as required for the role.
• Preferred: Experience in home care, home health, home and community care, group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, long-term care, nursing, or geriatrics.
• Preferred: Experience with patient monitoring, vital signs, medication administration, meal preparation, cleaning, heavy lifting, and patient transfer methods.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
