Medication Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant

Overview

As a Medication Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant, you’ll support residents with daily care and medication needs while helping them feel safe, respected, and comfortable. You’ll work closely with residents, families, and care teams, following care plans and facility procedures.

Duties

• Assist with bathing, dressing, meals, mobility, and other activities of daily living.
• Administer medications as authorized and document care, medication administration, and vital signs accurately.
• Support safe transfers using appropriate methods and equipment, including a Hoyer lift when indicated.
• Communicate changes in residents’ condition to the care team; protect privacy and follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.
• Provide respectful support for residents receiving senior, long-term, post-acute, hospice, dementia, or Alzheimer’s care.

Experience

• Required: Current credentials and qualifications for medication aide and certified nursing assistant duties, as applicable under local requirements; ability to follow care plans, maintain confidentiality, and use safe lifting practices.
• Preferred: Experience in long-term care, nursing homes, assisted living, home care, memory care, or working with geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities.
• Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs, catheter care, patient transfers, medical terminology, and electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) is valued.
• Basic life support (BLS) or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) knowledge is helpful.

Pay: $19.50 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
