Non-Medical Caregiver (PCA)

Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary, ensuring safety during meal times.
• Support clients with medication reminders and basic medication administration in compliance with HIPAA regulations and care plans.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
• Engage in patient observation to identify behavioral or health changes, especially for individuals with dementia.

Experience

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to support individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease.
• Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and patient personal care assistance.
• Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring hospice or palliative care.
• Familiarity with creating and following care plans while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA standards.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive support.
