About the position

This is not a typical caregiving role. We are hiring a Personal Assistant for a private client who wants day-to-day support that blends companionship, errands, and appointment management with the safety of a certified caregiver. You must hold an active PCA, HHA, or CNA certification, but you will not look like a caregiver. You will dress in business casual attire, carry yourself professionally, and support the client with discretion in her home and out in the community.

The client experiences short-term memory loss. Your role is to keep her days running smoothly, keep her safe, and communicate clearly with her care team and physicians, all while she maintains her independence and routine.

Responsibilities

• Accompany the client to doctor appointments, take notes, and relay questions and updates
• Inform physicians and family of any changes in behavior, memory, or condition
• Drive the client in her own vehicle to appointments, shopping, lunch outings, and errands
• Manage the client's calendar, appointment scheduling, and reminders
• Provide memory cues and gentle redirection throughout the day
• Light housekeeping and tidying to keep the home orderly
• Provide companionship and encourage social engagement
• Monitor for safety concerns in the home and community
• Document care and observations accurately
• Maintain strict confidentiality and the client's dignity at all times

Qualifications

• Active PCA, HHA or CNA certification (required)
• Administrative, executive assistant, office, or business background strongly preferred
• Experience supporting clients with memory loss or dementia preferred
