Summary The primary purpose of the Certified Nursing Assistant is to assist the nursing staff and medical providers by rooming patients, taking vital signs, verifying allergies, verifying medications, documenting in the Electronic Medical Record and other duties as needed in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Cozad Community Health System. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Assist nursing staff and providers as directed and in accordance with Nebraska State Law for Certified Nursing Assistants. * Room the patient and obtain vital signs, verify allergies and medications and document in EMR. * Setting up and assisting with procedures in minor surgery. * Ensures patient exam rooms are stocked, clean and orderly. * Ensures minor surgery rooms are stocked, clean and orderly; regularly checks for outdated items. * Cleans, packages, and sterilizes necessary supplies. * Ensures the sample medication cabinet is clean and orderly. Regularly checks for outdated samples and disposes of outdates appropriately. * Assist with opening and closing procedures. * Become proficient with the EMR used in the clinic and hospital. * Transfer medical information to the patient chart.
