Overview

Join our Sunshine Aide to CNA Class Open Positions and build hands-on skills while supporting people with daily care needs. This paid aide role is suited to someone interested in developing a path toward Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) work. Class availability and eligibility requirements should be confirmed with the employer.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities while respecting each person’s dignity, preferences, and privacy.
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper manual handling and equipment such as a Hoyer lift when trained and directed.
• Observe and report changes in condition; assist with vital signs and care documentation as assigned.
• Communicate clearly with individuals, families, and care team members, and follow infection prevention and confidentiality practices.
• Your impact: Consistent, respectful assistance helps individuals feel safer and more supported in their daily routines.

Skills

• Relevant experience: Caregiving, patient care, senior care, geriatrics, nursing home, long-term care, assisted living, home care, hospice, memory care, dementia or Alzheimer’s care, and post-acute or sub-acute care.
• Additional settings: Hospital, inpatient, outpatient, clinic, medical office, acute care, critical care, intensive care unit (ICU), pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), emergency or urgent care, medical-surgical, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, behavioral health, infectious disease, pediatrics, operating room (OR), teaching hospital, Level I or Level II trauma center, and work with children or individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
• Care knowledge: Medication administration, catheter care, phlebotomy, aseptic technique, physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, patient transfer methods, safe lifting, and basic life support (BLS) or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
• Records and communication: Electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health record (EHR) systems, including Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks; medical documentation, records management, HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and caregiver communication.
• Experience is helpful, not required across every listed setting. DME (durable medical equipment) familiarity is a plus.
