1:1 HHA/CNA Caregiver needed in San Marcos PT

PART TIME - great job for CNAs or Nursing Students

This is a 1:1 caregiving job for a C6 Quadriplegic, 34 yr old male, into adaptive sports, degree in sustainable technologies. He has an amazing support team but needs one more caregiver! Are you detail oriented, a great communicator, dependable with a can-do attitude? Job Duties include assisting with ADLs, personal care; showers, dressings as well as bowel program and bladder management, slide transfers to wheelchair and bed, making food and assistance eating. Light housekeeping and driving his adaptive van to and from therapy, adaptive sport and outings. This job includes social situations that age is important.

Experience working with someone with a disability is a plus, and training for personal care: intermittent cathing and bowel program provided. Stamina for physical activities such as assisting with adaptive sports and projects and the ability to do an occasional overnight shift is needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist client get into and out of wheelchair by means of Slide Transfer
• Assist clients with personal care (Cathing & Bowel Program) and hygiene (Shower/Bed bath, Brushing Teeth)
• Prepare meals and assist client with eating
• Perform light housekeeping duties
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion comfortable driving a mobility van to get client to Physical Therapy and Doctors Appointments
• Help client with gardening and work assignments, research, electronics and assist with notetaking and emails
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

• AA or Bachelors degree preferred
• Completion of a CNA or Nursing program OR 2 years experience as a caregiver for an adult with a disability is also preferred
• Clean Driving Record
