Caregiver - AM Shift (6:30AM-2:30PM)

*Summary of Position:*

Performs resident care activities and related nursing services necessary, in caring for the personal needs, safety and comfort of residents as assigned. Assists in providing a physical, social and psychological environment, which allows the resident to achieve the highest level of functioning. Performs duties in accordance with established resident service objectives, standards, facility policies and procedures and resident rights.

*Qualifications:*

Required

¨ Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

¨ Completion of DSHS required training per WACs

¨ Current HCA or CNA license

¨ Current CPR certification, First Aide and HIV/AIDs training

¨ Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members and all levels of personnel

¨ Special interest in and a positive attitude about working with the elderly

¨ Knowledge of universal precautions

¨ Ability to relate well to persons of varying backgrounds, abilities and expectations

¨ Acceptable references

¨ Physical requirements

a) Free of communicable disease

b) Meet facility policies and procedure regarding necessary physical health

c) Meet the following criteria

0– Not at all

1- Occasionally (1% - 33%)

2- Frequently (34% - 66%)

3- Continuously (67% - 100%)

Bending stooping = 3 Lifting:

Reaching above shoulder = 2 10-35 lbs. = 3

Pushing/Pulling = 2 36-70 lbs. = 2

Standing/Walking = 3 71 –100 lbs. = 2

Sitting = 1

The criteria for bending/stooping, pushing/pulling and standing/walking must be met to

be employed because they are essential functions and elements of the job
