Caregiver

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, physically capable, and compassionate caregiver to provide dedicated 1-on-1 care for an adult male client in Park Forest, IL.

Due to the intimate nature of personal care required for a male client, a male caregiver is preferred. The ideal candidate must be skilled in handling total care/bedridden clients, operating transfer equipment safely, and maintaining patience and composure during behavioral episodes.

Duties

• Transfer & Mobility: Safe operation of a Hoyer Lift for all transfers (bed, chair, wheelchair); execute regular repositioning schedules to prevent pressure ulcers.
• Personal Care: Provide assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, and total personal hygiene for a bedridden client.
• Dietary Care: Prepare and assist with a pureed diet, strictly adhering to swallowing precautions and aspiration prevention protocols.
• Behavioral Management: Remain calm, patient, and professional when responding to periods where the client becomes uncooperative or experiences behavioral episodes.
• Safety & Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and dignified environment for the client at all times.

Qualifications

• Experience: Hands-on caregiving experience, specifically with bedridden clients and Hoyer Lift transfers.
• Location: Reliable transportation to/from Park Forest, IL 60466.
• Physical Ability: Able to perform heavy lifting, turning, and repositioning safely.
• Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification preferred; formal Caregiver or CNA training is a plus.
• Skills: Excellent communication, patience, emotional resilience, and background clearance.
