Caregiver/CNA

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregivers and CNA's to provide essential support and care to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient well-being, excellent communication skills, and experience working with diverse populations, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring memory or dementia care. As a caregiver, you will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, monitoring health status, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for all individuals we support.

Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to track health status.
• Provide client observation and report any changes in condition to management staff promptly.
• Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Help with meal preparation while maintaining hygiene standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of client's homes with regular cleaning and sanitation practices.
• Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or other transfer devices to ensure safe transfer procedures.
• Engage clients in social activities and provide emotional support to promote mental well-being.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a caregiver or CNA is preferred, but not required. Experience may include assisted living, nursing home, or home & community care settings. Home Helpers also recognizes caring for family members as experience.
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is not required; Home Helpers will certify you within your first 3 months of employment. Additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or hospice care is advantageous, but not required.
