Caregiver for Adults

Overview

As a Caregiver for Adults, you’ll provide respectful, person-centered support that helps adults maintain comfort, dignity, and independence. You’ll assist with daily routines, follow care plans, and communicate changes in a client’s condition to the appropriate care team. Your impact: Attentive care and timely updates help clients feel supported and help care teams respond to changing needs.

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, mobility, and safe transfers; use a Hoyer lift and manual handling methods when appropriate.
• Observe and monitor clients, including vital signs when assigned, and follow care plans for medication administration within your role and applicable requirements.
• Prepare meals, cook, support personal transportation, and complete light cleaning.
• Provide direct support and client communication tailored to individual needs, including dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, autism, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and other disabilities.
• Respect residents’ rights, protect privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and follow first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures as trained.

Qualifications

• Patient care, caregiving, and patient personal care assistance skills; familiarity with patient observation, patient monitoring, patient transfer methods, and heavy lifting.
• First aid and CPR knowledge; nursing experience or familiarity with medication administration and vital signs is helpful.
• Experience in home care, home health, home and community care, assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, hospice care, senior care, geriatrics, or long-term care is valued.
• Experience with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, developmental disabilities, or disabilities is welcome.
• Cooking, meal preparation, cleaning, direct support, care plans, HIPAA, and residents’ rights knowledge are useful.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
