We are expanding our caregiver team in Durham, NC, and seeking dedicated individuals who are passionate about improving the quality of life of others.

Our agency supports seniors, veterans, adults needing assistance with daily routines, individuals participating in clinical trials, and families seeking dependable caregiver support.

Position Summary

The In-Home Caregiver provides non-medical assistance, companionship, and household support to clients in their homes. Caregivers help promote independence, dignity, safety, and overall well-being while following individualized client service plans and agency policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
• Assist clients with daily routines and non-medical activities within the authorized care plan.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal planning.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and household organization.
• Provide medication reminders without administering medications.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community activities as authorized.
• Provide respite and companionship support for family caregivers.
• Support veterans and seniors in maintaining comfortable home environments.
• Provide non-medical companionship and household assistance to clinical trial participants and their families.
• Observe and report changes in client needs or concerns to agency management.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and timekeeping records.
• Respect client confidentiality, dignity, personal preferences, and independence.
• Follow agency safety procedures and professional standards.

Important

This position is limited to non-medical services and tasks authorized under the agency's applicable license, policies, caregiver qualifications, and individual client care plan. Caregivers do not perform nursing procedures, administer medications, or independently provide hands-on personal care outside their authorized role.

Qualifications

Required

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Compassionate, dependable, and professional.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a client's home.
• Ability to pass required background screening.
• Reliable transportation to assigned client locations.
• Ability to complete required agency orientation and training.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Preferred

• Previous caregiving, companion care, home care, or senior support experience.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Experience supporting seniors, veterans, or individuals with disabilities.
• Bilingual communication skills.
• Availability for evening or weekend assignments.

• Morning and afternoon shifts
