Caregiver/Personal Assistant

Job Summary

As a Caregiver/Personal Assistant, you’ll provide respectful, person-centered support with daily routines, personal care, meals, and household tasks. You’ll follow each client’s care plan, communicate changes promptly, and help people maintain comfort, dignity, and independence at home or in a care setting. Your impact: Attentive care and clear communication help clients and their families feel informed and supported.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and personal care.
• Observe and monitor clients, record vital signs when assigned, and report changes in condition.
• Support medication administration only as authorized and directed by the care plan.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and provide personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Use safe manual handling and patient transfer methods, including a Hoyer lift when trained and appropriate; respect privacy, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), and residents’ rights.

Requirements

• Patient care, caregiving, direct support, client communication, and the ability to follow care plans.
• First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills; experience with patient monitoring, vital signs, medication administration, and heavy lifting is helpful where relevant to the role.
• Experience in home care, home health, home and community care, assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, hospice, or long-term care is welcome.
• Experience supporting older adults, including geriatrics, senior care, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or memory care, is valued.
• Experience with autism, developmental or intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or other disabilities is valued; nursing experience is a plus.

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
