Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant

Overview

Caregivers provides individualized support to children and adolescents with developmental, physical, behavioral, or emotional needs. The DSP works one-on-one with each participant to promote independence, build daily living skills, encourage community involvement, and support personal growth in a safe and positive environment.

Duties

* Provide one-on-one support based on the individual’s service plan and family goals.

Requirements

• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation as needed.
• Teach and reinforce daily living skills such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, organization, money management, and personal responsibility.
• Support social skill development through positive interactions and structured activities.
• Encourage participation in community activities, recreation, volunteer opportunities, and educational experiences.
• Assist with transportation to approved community activities when authorized.
• Promote independence while ensuring the individual’s safety and well-being.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and maintain a calm, respectful approach during challenging situations.
• Build trusting relationships with participants and their families while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Ability to assist with ADLs and handle manual tasks
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record for transportation duties if applicable
• Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to resident safety

Work Environment

Services are provided in participants’ homes and throughout the community. Work schedules may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on participant needs.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
