Responsibilities

  • Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patient health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
  • Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
  • Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring a hygienic environment
  • Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
  • Document care activities accurately, update care plans regularly, and communicate effectively with team members about patient progress

Skills

  • Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer's care strategies
  • Ability to perform CPR and first aid confidently in emergency situations
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times
  • Strong skills in medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient monitoring practices
