What you’ll do

  • Provide personal care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Monitor and document patients’ vital signs and overall health status, ensuring any changes are reported promptly.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning and organization of spaces.
  • Assist residents with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Develop and follow personalized care plans that cater to individual needs, including memory care for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
  • Engage residents in social activities that promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
  • Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.

Basic qualifications

  • Experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health, assisted living, or nursing homes.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques to ensure immediate response in emergencies.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist individuals with mobility challenges.
  • Strong observational skills for monitoring patient conditions and reporting changes effectively.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
