Pohai Nani Assisted Living is seeking compassionate, dependable caregivers to provide personal care and support to our residents. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will help residents maintain their comfort, independence, and dignity while contributing to a welcoming community grounded in safety, respect, and aloha.

What You’ll Do

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
• Support safe walking, transfers, repositioning, and meal assistance according to individualized care plans.
• Observe and promptly report changes in residents’ health, behavior, skin condition, or emotional well-being to the RN.
• Monitor vital signs and other care indicators as assigned and accurately document care provided.
• Respond promptly to resident requests and help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
• Follow infection prevention procedures and respond to emergencies within your training.
• Collaborate with nurses, medication technicians, and other team members to provide consistent, person-centered care.

What You’ll Bring

• Current Hawaiʻi CNA certification in good standing, maintained throughout employment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Compassion, patience, dependability, and respect for older adults.
• Ability to follow care plans, communicate clearly, and complete electronic documentation.
• At least six months of CNA experience preferred; recent graduates with demonstrated competency are welcome to apply.

Experience in assisted living, memory care, or long-term care is a plus. Dementia care training, additional language skills, and experience serving Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities are also valued.

Schedule & Work Requirements

Schedules may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may be required based on resident care and staffing needs.

This active role involves standing, walking, bending, and assisting with resident transfers and repositioning using proper techniques and equipment. Duties may require lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 65 pounds. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Employment is contingent upon completion of required background screenings, employment verification, and TB and health clearances.
