Certified Nursing Assistant - Hospice

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in hospice care, you’ll provide compassionate, hands-on support to patients and help them maintain comfort, dignity, and connection. You’ll work with patients and their families in home and community settings, communicating changes to the care team and following each patient’s care plan.

Your impact: Attentive personal care and timely communication help patients feel supported and help families and care teams respond to changing needs.

Duties

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meals, mobility, and other activities of daily living.
• Measure and report vital signs, observe changes in comfort or condition, and document care accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
• Use safe lifting practices and patient transfer methods, including a Hoyer lift when appropriate; follow infection prevention and aseptic technique.
• Provide respectful support for patients with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other complex needs, and communicate clearly with families and colleagues.
• Protect patient privacy and follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.

Experience

• Required: Current nursing assistant certification and ability to provide compassionate patient care. Follow applicable care plans, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
• Preferred: Hospice, home care, senior care, geriatrics, long-term care, nursing home, assisted living, memory care, or post-acute care experience.
• Experience with patient transfers, catheter care, medication administration within authorized duties, or basic life support (BLS) is helpful.
• Other healthcare experience—including hospital, acute care, emergency medicine, or developmental disability support—is welcome.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
