Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
  • Support clinical staff with procedures such as catheter care, wound care, and aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
  • Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments within memory or behavioral health units.
  • Operate medical equipment including Hoyer lifts, ECG machines, and assist with phlebotomy procedures when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and patient safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in diverse settings such as hospitals (including ICU and trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, and home care environments.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations.
  • Experience working in various healthcare environments including nursing homes, assisted living or home health care.
