Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, ensuring proper documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to maintain patient safety.
• Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavioral health protocols.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care plans are followed and communicate any changes or concerns promptly.
• Maintain a safe environment by following infection control procedures, practicing proper hand hygiene, and managing infectious disease precautions.
• Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and basic life support (BLS) when required.
• Support patients during transfers and ambulation using safe lifting practices and assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or gait belts.
