Why does the job exist?

This position exists to ensure the safe, efficient, and compassionate transportation of residents within and outside the facility. The Transport Certified Nursing Aide plays a crucial role in supporting residents during travel to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other activities, while also assisting with personal care and daily living activities during transport. The role helps maintain resident safety, comfort, and independence, while supporting the overall operational flow of the facility. By ensuring that transportation and related activities are carried out smoothly and safely, this position helps improve residents' quality of life and ensures the facility remains compliant with safety standards and regulations.

How does it get done?

Receiving assignments from the Transportation Scheduler and reporting any deviations or concerns during transport. Assisting residents with preparing for trips, including oral care, dressing, and ensuring they have necessary medical equipment and personal items. Safely transporting residents to and from appointments, therapy sessions, and activities, ensuring proper securing of wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices. Providing personal care support during transport, such as offering fluids, assisting with eating, and providing reassurance and companionship. Monitoring residents during transport by repositioning, checking incontinent residents, and providing toileting and perineal care as needed....
