Weekend and PRN (On-Call) shifts. Typical shifts are approximately 12 to 12.5 hours (8:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.), depending on the needs of the day.

Position Overview

Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College is seeking a compassionate, dependable Caregiver/Companion to provide attentive care and support to our elderly priests and monks.

This position combines compassionate companionship with hands-on caregiving. The successful candidate will assist with personal care, mobility, daily routines, and activities of daily living while providing a calm, respectful presence that honors the dignity, independence, and spiritual life of each individual.

Essential Responsibilities

* Provide compassionate companionship, conversation, and emotional support.

Perform other related caregiving duties as assigned.

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, personal hygiene, and other personal care needs while preserving dignity and privacy.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, walking, repositioning, and other physical support as needed.
• Help with meals, hydration, and feeding assistance when appropriate.
• Observe changes in physical or emotional well-being and communicate concerns promptly to appropriate staff.
• Encourage participation in daily routines while providing reassurance and gentle support.
• Perform light housekeeping related to resident comfort, including changing bed linens, laundry, and maintaining a clean living environment.
