Cook - Assisted Living/Memory Care

We are looking for a cook to join our team and assist in preparing delicious meals for our residents and families, as well as serving our residents. The role of the Cook is to prepare and serve high quality, nourishing and properly prepared food. Must be able to follow time schedules for food production, food preparation and serving meals. Must maintain a work area that is clean and orderly to ensure that all food is stored according to proper sanitation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
• Assist in preparing all menu items as described on the daily production sheets and standardized recipes.
• Prepare food in a timely manner
• Ensure appealing plate presentation
• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests.
• Monitor food stock and place orders
• Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
• Communicate with residents and guests in a kind, respectful, and gentle manner
• Maintain training compliance
• Provide a positive dining experience for the residents
• Assist in serving at meal times

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
