Home Health Aide

Duties

• Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor and observe patient health status, including vital signs and overall well-being
• Support medication administration following proper protocols and documentation standards
• Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, catheters, and other assistive devices safely and effectively
• Assist with feeding, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed
• Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
• Document patient progress and communicate updates to healthcare teams promptly
• Offer emotional support and companionship to foster a positive home environment

Requirements

• Prior experience in home health care preferred
• Strong knowledge of patient care procedures
• Certification in CPR and first aid required; additional certifications such as hospice care or dementia training are a plus
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or long-term care needs preferred
• Ability to operate medical equipment like Hoyer lifts and perform catheter care safely
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient information
• Excellent communication skills and compassionate demeanor
