In Home Caregiver

CAREGIVER/COMPANION NEEDED

Come hang out with me! I'm a 33-year male with quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Immediate needs are for a part-time person who can work 1 to 3, 6-8 hour shifts per week.

Note: AM Shifts are 7:15A-3:15P and PM are 3- 10 or 11PM.

We are always accommodating and flexible for occasional requests off.

I need someone to help me with all activities of daily living. In between getting up or going to bed I like to be out in about going on adventures! I enjoy cooking, watching sports (especially bike races), doing art, games, movies, singing, music, walks and bus rides. I have lift-systems at both homes, but this job does require that you can help position me and push me in a wheel chair. This is a great job for all caregivers, and/or students looking to work in the healthcare, social services, psychology and/or education field. We do need staff that live in Santa Cruz year round, and/or live close enough that the commute is realistic.

Pay

: For In-Home Caregivers, starting pay $26.00/hr, but that can be raised up to $30 if you come with caregiving experience &/OR after several months of continuous and reliable work. I use different funding sources to pay for my care. I pay for orientation & training ($21 /hour). My occasional overnight shifts pay 21$/ hour, but you are able to rest close by, unless I need assistance during the night.

Location

: I split my time between my parent’s homes. One lives right next to UCSC and the other is in Midtown/Seabright (both near bus lines).
