In-Home Caregiver Needed for Elderly Woman (Doraville, GA area)

Doraville, GA Schedule: Part-Time (27 hours per week Mon, Tues and Thur)

Abundant Life Assisted Services is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Support Aide (PSSX) to provide in-home assistance and companionship to an elderly client living with her daughter. The client has a history of Alzheimer’s Disease, Arthritis, Diabetes with Neuropathy, Hypertension, Gout, and CKD Stage 3. The ideal caregiver will be patient, observant, and experienced in supporting clients with memory loss and mobility limitations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Assist with ambulation and transfers; support safe use of cane and wheelchair.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, linen changes, and room organization.
• Prepare and serve balanced, low sodium/low sugar meals and snacks as directed.
• Offer medication reminders and ensure client adheres to prescribed routines.
• Provide companionship and engage the client in conversation and appropriate activities.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in the client’s immediate environment.
• Document daily activities, observations, and any changes in client condition.
• Communicate effectively with family and agency staff regarding client needs or concerns.

Client Information Summary

• Female, 87 years old, residing with daughter in a townhouse.
• Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s; pleasantly confused but cooperative.
• Ambulates short distances with a cane; wheelchair used for outdoor mobility.
• Incontinent of bladder; wears adult briefs.
• Requires extensive assistance with ADLs and full support for IADLs.
• No recent falls, hospitalizations, or ER visits.
• Appetite stable; eats three meals and snacks daily.

Qualifications

• Must be CNA, PCA, or PSS certified in the state of Georgia.
• Minimum 1 year of experience providing in-home care (geriatrics or dementia preferred).
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with transfers.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Must pass background check and TB screening.
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable demeanor is essential.
