In Home Caregiver

Overview

As an In Home Caregiver, you’ll provide respectful, attentive care in clients’ homes and communities. You’ll support daily routines, follow care plans, and communicate changes in a client’s condition to the appropriate care team. Your impact: Consistent personal care and observation help clients maintain comfort, dignity, and independence while giving families greater confidence in their care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, safe transfers, and mobility; use a Hoyer lift when trained and directed.
• Observe and monitor clients, including vital signs when assigned, and promptly report changes.
• Support medication administration only as authorized and follow care plans, privacy practices, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) requirements, and residents’ rights.
• Prepare meals, cook, clean, and provide personal transportation assistance as assigned.
• Offer compassionate support for older adults and people with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities, and other disabilities; follow first aid and emergency procedures.

Requirements

• Patient care, caregiving, direct support, client communication, and patient observation skills.
• Experience in home care, home health, home and community care, assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, hospice care, or long-term care is relevant.
• Knowledge of senior care, geriatrics, memory care, nursing, patient monitoring, and care plans is valued.
• Safe manual handling, patient transfer methods, and ability to perform required lifting are important.
• First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills are preferred; experience with medication administration and Hoyer lifts is also valued.

Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
