Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregivers to provide essential support and personalized care to individuals in their own homes. As an In Home Caregiver, you will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and fostering independence for those in need of support due to age, disability, or health conditions. Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and observe changes in health status to inform care plans and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences while maintaining proper food safety standards.
• Provide medication administration assistance in accordance with prescribed care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
• Support clients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through memory care techniques and engagement activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces.
• Offer transportation assistance for medical appointments, errands, or community outings to promote social engagement and independence.
• Document care activities accurately while respecting residents’ rights and privacy; participate in ongoing training related to hospice care, home & community care experience, and patient monitoring.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as an In Home Caregiver or in similar roles within home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes.
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication management, first aid, CPR certification, and basic nursing skills.
• Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia support, neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities support, and autism spectrum disorder.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper manual handling procedures; experience with Hoyer lifts is preferred.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, healthcare teams, and community resources.
• Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation for client outings and appointments.
• Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards; understanding of resident's rights is essential.
• Experience working with individuals across the lifespan including geriatrics and those with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly desirable.
